Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood. There is a growing apostasy that has now brought us to a point in alleged postmodern America where the evangelical church is facing the exact same issue as that encountered by Charles Haddon Spurgeon with the encroaching liberals in the Baptist Union of his day. Today we can see what I’ve called The New Downgrade No-Controversy developing when someone like spiritual guru Brian McLaren, a recognized leader in the decidedly anti-Reformation Emergent Church, has been able to fool weak-willed leaders within the Church of our Lord through his a-logical double-speak into accepting him as an evangelical when he in fact denies the Gospel that’s supposedly preached by evangelicals.
