Christians Hating the Gospel?

If you haven't been over to the Law Man Chronicles and read the post titled "They Loved The Darkness Rather Than The Light", prepare yourself for the unbelievable. Be sure to watch the video's that go along with this event... Shocking!

In light of what took place at this event, I too have noticed a trend with myself as it seems that I am spending more time witnessing to professing Christians than those who deny Christ? The sad thing is they both respond the same way, negatively.

To quote you, the sad thing is they responded the same way. Amen brother. That most surely IS the sadest part. Believers either so new to the faith, or so weak in the biblical studies that they can't discern untruth, or true Gospel preaching. We are living in sad desperate times my brother. And those like Bentley (and the ones who support him) will be held accountable.

Hello my brother, I just wanted to say thanks for your wonderful site, and I too share your current predicament of witnessing more to professing Christians than to those who reject Christ openly.

The sad thing to me however is this: So often those who reject Christ do so because of their negative judgement of how they perceive Christians to be, with the main problem being that in many cases their judgment is right!

As a final statement, aimed especially towards anyone reading this with a tendency to overlook the need for repentance in the Church, I would look to a portion of Scripture in Amos 9, that is so commonly quoted by those in the emergent church, and the Kingdom Now brigade. Namely that the Lord is raising up the Tabernacle of David again, and drawing all the gentiles in.

If they truly believe this is the case, might it not be a good idea to step back a couple of verses to put the whole thing in context?

God says in Amos 9:11 "In that day, I will raise up the Tabernacle of David...", but the the "day" He is referring to is described clearly in verses 9&10 as when He shakes the whole of His people, and all who are sinners shall die by the sword!

Let's forget the "little gods" lies for a minute, and confessing the Word of God as if its a magic book of incantations, and throw ourselves on His grace and mercy, purchased for us by the precious blood of His own Son, Jesus Christ.

Amen!!
